USS OLYMPIA - Spanish American War

USS Olympia
This ship was in the Spanish American War and World War I.  Theodore Roosevelt also used this ship to sail around the world on a peace mission he dubbed The Great White Fleet.  All ships up until that point (1890's) had been made of wood exterior and Roosevelt commissioned the making of a fleet made of steel.

The interior was beautifully made of hard woods.  Any sailor would have appreciated being on this ship.

 Officer's mess hall.

Sailors slept and resided in the hammocks that just hung every where

 Guns were everywhere too

A very scary looking operation room.
