George Washington's Birthplace
This is a National Park, but the original house does not exist, the buildings here are all recreations of what MIGHT have been. The original foundation has been located and is outlined, however, it is much smaller than even the recreated house. The current standing buildings were constructed about 1931 by the Rockefeller Foundation, who interestingly enough also funded much of the preservation work of Colonial Williamsburg during the same time period.
Pope's Creek foundation
Pope's Creek Foundation...Within this little space is where George Washington was born. As you can see it is much small than the recreated house that now stands.
The only original piece that still survives of Pope's Creek is the small table and chairs below.
