Historic Churches of Philadelphia #2

Old Holy Trinity Church - 1789

Founded by the German Catholics. The Church appears today almost exactly as it did in 1789, though it wasn't open to the public at the time of my visit.
A picture of the interior! It is oval domed shaped and looks spectacular!

The Virgin Mary in the very small church graveyard.

It is a very small church grave yard and I was saddened to see that so many of the stones are broken and in disrepair! It does not appear to be well kept as other church graveyards are. That is disappointing.

St. Augustine's Catholic Church - 1796

As it is today. I was not allowed entry unfortunately.

Old First Reformed Church of Christ - 1727

This is not the original building for the church. This one is built in the early 1800's in the Federal Style of the period. The Church is considered the oldest German Reformed church in the area.

The inside has box pews.

The Front of the church

From the balcony. The top says Founded 1727
Standing front looking toward the balcony and back of the church. The organ is center rear.

The stones mounted on the wall are from the church graveyard of the 1740's.
