John Adams Home in Quincy Massachusetts

The Hancock Cemetery, named after John Hancock and his family. Many Revolution patriots and soldiers are buried here, as well as the first Adams progenitor, Henry from 1646

John Adams is one of my many favorite Founding Fathers. He is cranky, irascible, stubborn and always righteous. He has unwavering noble and honor sensibilities and gave the vast majority of his life to the creation and building of his country. He was not only a Founding Father, signing the Declaration of Independence, but a minister to Russia, the Netherlands, France and England. Unfortunately, because he was not so well liked, he has never been considered one of our greatest Presidents.....poor John

The Home of John and Abigail Adams, their 2nd home that both will spend their later years in and die.

After John left the Presidency, Abigail had this library built. John spent many of his final years and hours in the library reading and writing letters and his memoirs. Unfortunately, we were unable to take pictures of the inside.

This saltbox type house is said to be John and Abigails first home. It sits on the same property as their second homestead.

A world map inside the visitor center...it's reflects a world as John Adams would have known it.

John Adams and Abigail. Notice the flag, it has additional stripes. It was first thought that as our country added states, stripes would be added to the flag. However, within a few short years it was realized that additional stars would be better. But, this is what the flag would have looked like upon Johns Adams's death.
