York, Pennsylvania #2

Prospect Hill Cemetery - one of the oldest in the town, though there was another one as well that I didn't have time to get to.

Philip Livingston signer of the Declaration of Independence and delegate from New York here in York to write the Articles of Confederation.  He died while attending the Convention and is buried here.

Civil War section of the cemetery

The town citizens ensured that these Unknown Confederate Soldiers still received proper burial.

Irony - Philip Livingston (foreground) Signer of the Declaration and Founding Father with Civil War memorial and soldiers in the background

The town honors its service men and women who have given their lives in the Iraq War

A Flag Memorial to all US service personnel who have fallen in the Iraq War.

One of the oldest churches in town.

Headstones from the late 1700's.

Areas of York have a feel much like that of Philadelphia and Charleston with its row houses

First Quaker Meeting House

The town has dozens of murels painted on the buildings

My favorite:  Printer printing copies of the Declaration and Articles
 Unusual buildings

The town also has an historic district with many Queen Anne style homes

Generaly "Mad Anthony" Wayne resided here for a short time during the American Revolution
