Kingsley Plantation - Florida

Kingsley Plantation

The Kingsley Plantation, built in 1797, is in the Jacksonville area of Florida, then known as East Florida and part of the Spanish colonies.  It has a complicated and yet fascinating history.  Zephaniah Kingsley purchased the property around 1814 and owned several plantations in the area.  In 1806 he married one of his free slaves, Anna, and he put her in charge of running this plantation.  For an in depth but short history on Zephaniah and the Kingsley Plantation read here

Lexington Cemetery

Lexington, Kentucky Cemetery

This is a beautiful park style cemetery and full of history.  When I entered the park, I set out to find all the famous folks, Union and Confederate Generals, however, there are far more than I expected and did not have the hours to do so.  I'll be going back and I'll update photos.
