Wright Square named for Mr. Wright the first royal governor of Georgia
Revolutionary War hero Nathaniel Greene retired to his plantation Mulberry Grove after the War. He is buried here in the square.
River Street and RiverFront
Cobblestone streets. Much of the stone comes from Britain, Scotland and other areas. The stone was used as ballast in the ships. Once the ships arrived in Savannah, the ballast was replaced with cargo, cotton, and sailed back to England. The stones were used to build the streets and alleys.
